Theatrical Fencing

Swordplay is an exciting part of many theatrical productions. In this class students are introduced to safe and effective fencing techniques suitable for stage and film. In this day long seminar each student learns the basics of theatrical fencing using the sabre and then applies this knowledge to a short choreographed sword fight set on the high seas. Students should wear clothing that facilitates athletic movement and shoes with non-marking heels and soles. Equipment provided at class. Fencing is a very safe activity; the instructor has been trained in safety techniques specific to the discipline.
