Summer 2009

Inkprint Studio (Grades: 4-6)Cancelled

Printmaking is a fascinating artistic process that encourages you to intermix ink and paper, stamping and carving to create your own unique, multi-layered works of art. Through the use of different inks and papers, you can manipulate a single image and create a kaleidoscope of color and design. Use professional tools such as printing inks, paints, brayers, etching and carving tools, as well as everyday items such as cardboard and styrofoam. Explore a variety of graphic design techniques and printing methods including monoprinting, block printing and stamping. Learn the tricks of positive and negative space and how to create texture and shading using lines and color mixing. Experiment and play, and you too, can make your masterpieces striking and beautiful. Wrap it up with a field trip to Reprographics Graphic Design and Printing Services on the SSU campus and discover the latest technology in the printing industry.
