iMovie 101 (Grades: 4-6)


Make a movie in the blink of an eye! In this introductory iMovie class learn the skills to edit video and make your own movie. You will be provided with a variety of film clips, some video that you film yourself and the challenge of making a finished product. Make a movie about a topic such as galaxies, komodo dragons, wild horses, sharks-the choice is yours! Your film can convey emotion like love, fear, sadness or excitement or focus on a special theme such as friendship, conflict or cooperation. At the end of the week, share your movie at the Excel Film Festival for family and friends!

Jan Svoboda, M.A. from SSU in Education with an emphasis on Curriculum Technology, has taught technology integration classes to both teachers and students at the middle school, high school and university levels. She currently provides professional development for the Napa Valley Unified School District and enjoys instructing teachers to use technology creatively while still addressing the state standards.
