Reaching and Teaching Oppositional Defiant Disordered Students CANCELLED

Educating children who have oppositional-defiant behaviors requires the highest degree of emotional maturity in a teacher. This short course provides insight into the motivation and behavior of oppositional and defiant students. Discussions are based on problem solving real classroom situations. Participants learn to recognize antecedents that may trigger non-compliance. Reward and punishment as motivators for difficult students is discussed. Discussions cover strategies for short-term interventions as well as how to engineer the classroom environment to meet the needs of all students. Strength based interventions are discussed. School teams are encouraged.
