Silk Painting begins with a luxurious base of precious, pure white silk mounted on a frame. Use bamboo Chinese brushes and vibrant, flowing dyes to master ancient brushstrokes and create pictures with pure and intense color that can only be achieved with this unique technique. Learn to use a resist, which creates a barrier, stops the flow of color and produces dramatic outlines. Discover the tricks of composition and give your paintings dimension with shading, color mixing and value (lights and darks). Perfect your brushwork and techniques on paper made of rice, then create three luminous, finished masterpieces with the warmth and glow of silk shining though.
